   The story of Tatted Souls is about acceptance, and fighting your past to find your purpose.   

 

Hi, I'm Marcus Lucas the Writer and Director of TATTED SOULS.

 

   Growing up dyslexic in school my english and math teachers wrote me off as lazy and slow, kids made fun of me in classes and at church. I ask God why was I born this way? Why am I not smart like the other kids? So I make myself small hoping no one would notice me or find out my secret for years. But as God showed me my path that he made me this way for a purpose so I know longer feel small, ashamed and angry. Ever day I try to take one step  toward fighting my past to live my purpose. When Shonda Harris came to me about writing Tatted Souls and told me about her life, like me she asked God why am I born this way?  This movie is not just for the LGBT community alone, but for Dark Skin, Light Skin, Too Tall, Too Short, Too Fat, Too Skinny, Fatherless, Motherless, Raped, Victimized, Hated, Dyslexic, Poor, Questioning Faith, TATTED SOULS, and for those who ask God Why? 

 

   People hate with they don’t understand, because LOVE takes more energy, forgiveness, tolerance, patience, a lot of disappointment, and take time to understand. To show Love today comes off weak, because every day we are program to hate. 

 

  This movie is for you and women like my wife who is my biggest fan that encourages me to follow my dream, and Shonda Harris who is pushing me everyday toward my purpose.  An special thanks to my niece Raine Lucas who help Co-Write Tatted Souls and my Sisters, and Brothers that have always had faith in me.
